3GEN Outdoors: Coastal Carolina Kayak Adventure
3GEN Outdoors: Coastal Carolina Kayak Adventure
Join the 3GEN outdoors crew with Todd Corey and Gordon Ramseur as our guest guides as we take a 3 day, 2 night adveture off the coast of South Carolina. There is a trip package which includes kayak rental as well as one for those who have their own boats.
Overview of the trip (Feb. 10-12, 2023)
If you’ve never camped out on the beach then you are in for a real treat. What’s special about this trip is the island is accessible only by boat and due to the primitive location you basically get to have the island all to yourself. We are planning this trip in February for several reasons. First, avoid as many bugs as possible. The nights will still be cool so this will limit the number of mosquitos and it helps us enjoy the evening campfires as well. Secondly, this island is right next to Bulls Island which is part of the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. The amount of birds that migrate through this island is significant. There are also fresh water ponds on the island so alligators are prevalent as well… so watch your step! This going to be an amazing time to enjoy God’s creation and some great fellowship.
About Bulls Island
About Capers Island; DNR Site
This trip will be led by Gordon Ramseur and Todd Corey. Expect an 8 mile paddle out to the island. Because this is a remote location you will need to pack smartly as all of your belongings will need to fit in your boat. We will have a planning meeting with those that want to join the trip to help you pack. We will need to follow the tide schedule for February 10th; we will need to depart between 10-11am on Friday. We will be leaving Capers Island on the 12th by 9 AM to follow the tide coming in. https://marineweather.net/tide/isle-of-palms-pier-sc-tides
